Well, here we are. The USA is about to go to the polls and Trump is putting out vague messages that can be interpreted however you want to. Vague allusions to cannibals and how clever he is and the way he weaves. Self important nonsense, but however dumb he is it shows an understanding of the mess of belief that has started to creep into everyday dialogue. He’s manipulated the pattern seekers, the ones who want it all to be simple and with clearly defined bad and good, the ones who can’t shake the idea that life is a story and they are the hero.
People who have worked large events, people who have empirically tested things, people who understand what can be achieved by people and time, people who have critical thinking, people who know they are just a person with ideas among many other people : we are harder to seduce with this simplistic thinking. But … there’s a bigger stupid out there than we can imagine and I have a sad feeling it’ll rear its head now in these elections so actively narrated and curated by Russia. It’s easier to do nothing so let’s pretend we haven’t affected the climate and in fact it is being done by governments in some vast and obviously impossible to conceal conspiracy that is being concealed about like Contrails and cloud seeding to um I dunno affect our mood yeah and make us more pliable so yeah, don’t change your habits cos it’s all a lie, man. Like the moon landings, which have just clearly been thousands of people lying simultaneously forever without cracking, as well as the shape of the earth or whatever… distraction. So much distraction. And as a result we might end up with another actual lunatic in charge of one the biggest economies in the world, and if we don’t then the Russian bot farms and the lunatic will combine to try and forge civil war. On the fifth of NOVEMBER?! What idiot democrat chose a date with prefabricated revolutionary songs and material dating back hundreds of years.
I guarantee you, this is the last year of our short life we will ever be able to say “remember remember the fifth of November” in a room with an American without them thinking it’s about them.
Meanwhile I’m doing an old story about misinformation. Anything can be faked now and people are people so they are putting the fake stuff out selling it as real and even if it starts as a thought experiment it doesn’t take long before someone starts to think there’s evidence that the pyramids were built by nephilim and time doesn’t work etc. I just read Gilgamesh which tells the Noah story in Cuneiform a few thousand years before anyone framed God like the Jewish myth so prevalent right now. Utnapishtim he was called. Sure it was translated, I can’t read cuneiform, but you can feel the oral tradition just as you can in Homer and parts of the bible and I have no choice but to trust the translator and all the editors not to be lying to me, man… How do you like know that it was actually what was written on those tablets, bra? etc. Because I’ve worked collaboratively for years and I understand how things are made and how hard it is to conceal anything in large undertakings.
These stories help us make sense of the world but there’s an outsourcing of personal power which has been put to the fore in many of the recent narratives catalysed by Paul and the whole need to corral an empire into one God one emperor etc. Jahweh and then the Jesus story has been badly coopted no matter what the original intentions.
Meanwhile on the internet, idiot voices can be magnified way beyond their worth right now. Opinion is often considered as important as fact. Emotion and empathy has been pushed into a notion of political “left”, rationalism and mathematics have been pushed to a notion of “right” and people are being encouraged to choose a side like a football team and hate all the stuff from the other one. It’s inhuman and irrational, of course, but we consume so much from the internet and the internet is almost completely dominated by the man who is invading Ukraine. We think we are finding special secret things out when actually we are being fed turds wrapped in our bias designed to polarise, destabilise, divide and eventually make us ready for a special military operation…
Too many people I like have munched too many turd sarnies. And it’s gonna blow up more now in America, it can’t not, the idiots with guns are never gonna take a democrat victory as a real thing, and if it’s Trump then they’ll think they have licence and he WILL try and change the constitution to make himself president for life like Putin tried to persuade him to last time, too late for him to put it in place, hence the refusing to leave and the militarism. How it has gone back to this, how they chose 5th November… God save us all. They say the UK is usually about 5 years behind America.
